April 2025 Wirral Whiskers Update
Just a quick update with my availability for cat visits. Some dates are fully booked in May, June and July. Plus I'm having some time off in November. Also a little bit about what I've been up to recently.
April 2025 Update
Hiya Livi here. Whoops, it’s been a while since I did a blog article (again). As usual, I’ve got lots of ideas but not the inclination to get to the computer. Even my Instagram feed has suffered which is shocking considering the amount of photographs on my phone.
First of all I would like to thank all the pet owners who have asked me to care for their cats and small animals. It has been so lovely to see them.
Fully Booked
A quick update about my availability.
I’m fully booked for cat sitting for the following dates. (Edit: Although please feel free to check as I've just had a cancellation for this upcoming weekend.)
May - 4th and 5th
May - 9th and 10th
May - 24th to 26th
June - 13th to 22nd
June - 27th to 29th
July - 19th
July - 25th to 31st
November - 24th to 28th (This is when I'm having a holiday!)
Some of the other dates are quite full for visits as well.
Also, I’m fully booked for house sitting this year. If you have a small pet, I’ve only got limited pet boarding spaces due to being away house sitting.
Polite Request – Pest Prevention
Please make sure that your cats are up to date on their flea and tick prevention medicine. There is nothing worse than seeing a flea on a pet. It’s not nice for them or the humans. Plus it means much more work de-fleaing myself and car before going to the next visit/home.
Personal Life Update

It’s been the usual family life at home in between cat visit. Things have been busy with both of our kiddies starting the exam season. Lots of art and photography work over the Easter holidays. Then in September they will both be moving to new places. Lots of changes this year.
In early April we were lucky to visit the new ‘Heart of Africa’ area at Chester Zoo. It was amazing to have a tour with talks about how it was designed and made. My favourite section was one of the inside buildings which had a range of rodents! Including acacia rats, blind mole rats, zebra mice and African pygmy mice. Unfortunately all of my rodent photos taken on the day were rubbish.
It was very sad that my father in law died at the end of March. This was unexpected and he has left a big gap in our lives.
We have an empty small animal enclosure at the moment... My daughter and I would like some more African soft furred rats so I’m keeping an eye out on the small animal rescues. This is our something happy to look forward to.
Obviously our current pets are keeping us busy. Mainly with ‘what is Bean up to now?’. He is always keeping us on our toes with his constant search for food. (Click 'here' for his recent food hunting antics.) Plus most recently, he is trying to defend his property from the cats watching the other side of the fence. All of our cats are enjoying going out in the cat proofed garden now the weather is better.
Here’s hoping for a nice summer – or at least with breaks in the rain.
